Substance abuse recovery is complex requiring treatment that will touch upon and transform all aspects of the individual’s life. As mental health professionals, we are aware that harm reduction and abstinence can be fleeting. Instilling healthier lifestyle options, a greater sense of well-being, and a more secure attachment style form a foundation for recovery. Moreover, to achieve and maintain sobriety, individuals must discover what is now meaningful, acquire the tools needed to reach for their dreams, and develop the skills to work with the emotions that arise as they dare to do so. Drawing from an integrative perspective, Dr. Alvis will provide strategies designed to address each of these critical dimensions. The workshop materials are grounded in attachment theory and neuroscience with interventions being drawn from somatic, contemplative, and cognitive perspectives.

Join Debra, a seasoned and sought-after international presenter, for an experiential morning workshop. Leave the workshop feeling restored, inspired, and with new strategies for clinical application.
