Finding someone who makes you feel understood is often challenging, especially within a therapeutic setting.

Meet Interventionist Dr. Clarence Massie, Jr., M.S., ICADC, CADC-II, CLC - twin lakes recovery centerDr. Massie first identifies areas of concern and intervention by listening to his clients and helping them to understand how issues personally affect both the individual and their loved ones. Together, Dr. Massie and his clients work toward a solution with the collective goal of unmasking and resolving current and long-standing concerns which prevent the client from effectively moving forward from substance abuse. Together, they seek to gain emotional healing, self-improvement, and a greater appreciation of purpose.

Dr. Clarence Massie Jr. is a clinical evaluator, treatment provider, and interventionist based in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Massie’s clinical concentration is in substance abuse intervention and treatment. However, he also counsels and coaches clients in the areas of relationships, health and wellness, emotional and spiritual well-being, finances, and professional development.

Additionally, he specializes in men’s issues, including co-parenting and fathering interventions.

Clarence’s approach to therapy is to understand your dreams; together, set goals for you to achieve those dreams; and to teach and your loved ones effective coping skills to manage the difficult challenges you are facing. Clarence works collaboratively with his clients and their families, providing support and education, with an emphasis on building an empathic client-therapist relationship. Clarence describes his therapeutic approach as “an eclectic style to counseling and intervention.”

Clarence has provided therapeutic counseling and intervention services in the metropolitan Atlanta area for nearly 15 years with offices in east Atlanta, southwest Atlanta, and East Point, GA. In addition to his traditional therapeutic and intervention settings, Dr. Massie incorporates technology and utilizes video therapy, which in modern times has become a viable alternative to face-to-face therapy. Video therapy provides a secure and convenient method of counseling and intervention in the privacy of one’s own home and is a proven and successful option for many of his local and national clients.
